The Karst of Puerto Rico: A Vital Resource

CDK co-authored the publication “Puerto Rican Karst – A Vital Resource”, the most comprehensive study ever published on karst in Puerto Rico, with the International Institute of Tropical Forestry, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the University of Puerto Rico, Interamerican University, The Claremont Colleges and Carleton University. CDKThe translation of this publication into Spanish was completed in July 2004. If you are interested in printed copies of any of these publications, please contact our offices at 787-755-0410.

Educational Posters

CDK has published, with financial support from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Inter-American University, three posters highlighting the values and threats to the northern karso, the Puerto Rican boa constrictor, and the bat species found in Puerto Rico. These three posters have been distributed to more than 1,800 public and private schools on the island through the regional offices of the Department of Education and the Education Division of the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources.

Worldwide, we recommend that you visit the Acta Carsológica website. It includes a compendium of numerous karst research papers from around the world (Annotated Bibliography of Karst Publications http://carsologica.zrc-sazu.si). The Acta Carsologica is developed annually by the Karst Commission of the International Geographical Union.
